Find out about the trees near you
There's a list of trees that are due to be felled in the first five years of the Whalley Range Tree Managment Plan
Have a look and see if your immediate environment is affected. Are you happy about the plan as it affects you?
What else would you like to know about your local trees? Do you know what species they are? Does it matter? Do you know what wildlife is supported by your nearby trees? Do you know what's happening to local trees when it comes to pests and diseases? Do you know how old the trees are?
This topic invites people to say what their answers are to any or all of these questions.

I think the notices that have been put up on individual trees are really good. I've seen several people stop and look at them and begin discussing the plan. This is people who didn't know about it before the notices went up.
But I also think that they could be more eye-catching - especially those on Wilbraham Road where a lot of local people will pass by in cars and buses.
My suggestion is to have these printed up as large as we can and fastened facing both ways along the street on each tree that's at-risk.
That's a lot of trees. But the time-consuming work's been done with the original notices - which should still stay up as they've got more general information.
Are there any helpers for getting them printed and laminated? Any helpers for putting them up?
